FAQ

Q:HOW SOON CAN I BOOK YOU FOR MY WEDDING DATE?
A:We take bookings up to two years in advance, for example in 2019, we will take 2019,2020 and 2021 bookings. We sometimes have some last-minute spaces available, so its always worth asking no matter how soon your wedding day is.
However, we absolutely hate turning people away but unfortunately we are limited to one wedding per day (in very rare time circumstances we can take on two), which are all on a first come first serve basis, so we strongly advise to avoid disappointment, the earlier the better as most popular dates get booked up around 12 – 18 months in advance.
Q: CAN I HAVE AN INITIAL TRIAL BEFORE BOOKING YOU TO SEE IF YOU ARE RIGHT FOR ME?

A:Of course, you can! We completely understand that some of you maybe unsure whether you want to book our services before having a trial so we offer this service for £50.00 which if you decide to then book us for your wedding day services, that is then deducted from your final balance. However we cannot hold your date for you unless you pay the deposit and send back the booking form. For brides who would like a trial in excess of 6 months or more before their wedding date, we do recommend an initial pre-trial, and then a full trial nearer the time. We also welcome brides to pop in the salon for a welcomed chat which gives you a chance to meet with me and discuss your ideas and peruse my portfolio of bridal work

Q: CAN I TRY MORE THAN ONE HAIRSTYLE?
A:Yes, of course you can try more than one, but we do ask clients to try and pin point their two favourites. If you have too many choices it can get confusing and can sometimes lead to an unsuccessful trial or a client who is still unsure of what they want. It is also difficult to maintain the hair if it is put up and taken down several times and can start to look untidy.
Q: DO I WASH MY HAIR THE MORNING OF THE TRIAL/WEDDING?
A:There seems to be a misconception that you shouldn’t have clean hair if you’re having it put up. If you arrive at your trial and your hair needs washing, the likelihood is, is that the hairstylist won’t be able to style it properly due to oil on the roots. This prevents us getting any root lift in the hair and is also unpleasant for the stylist. If you wash your hair every day, then wash it the morning of the trial and wedding day. If you wash it every three to four days, then the day before will suffice. We only say to our brides the night before will be perfect if you know you won’t have much time in the morning. Please arrive with your hair completely dry for the session. The same rule applies for bridesmaids and Mums.
Q: DO YOU OFFER VEGAN MAKEUP?
A:Yes we have a selection of Vegan/cruelty free makeup in our kit, please make this known to us when booking.
Q: WHAT BEAUTY TREATMENTS DO YOU RECOMMEND BEFORE I GET MARRIED?
A:If there is one thing that you have done professionally let it be your brows. Even if you visit just once, as a professional therapist I will help you get your brows into a shape, thickness and length that will work best for your face shape, this will play such an important part in helping your bridal makeup look natural.

Also something else that we will great factor to making sure your makeup looks beautiful on your wedding day is getting into a great skin care regime at least 12 weeks before your wedding, cleanse, tone and moisturize, every day. Make sure your removing your makeup thoroughly every night. Exfoliate your skin gently twice a week. You will see a massive difference in your skin in just a couple of weeks, how it looks, how it feels and how your makeup applies.
If you wanted an extra boost to your skin book in for a facial every month this will target any skin concerns, you may have on a deeper basis.

Q: HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN YOU MANAGE ON YOUR OWN?
A:Our maximum is normally 5 people, but It all depends whether everyone is having hair, makeup or both and what time you all need to be ready if you have a later ceremony and only wanted hair or makeup, we will be able to accommodate a larger bridal party. I have a team of artist and stylists that assist with larger bridal parties to ensure the morning of your wedding runs smoothly. If you are concerned about numbers and time constraints let us know at the time of booking and we will do our best to advise what the best way to go will be.
Q: HOW FAR DO YOU TRAVEL?

A:I travel anywhere within the UK, and internationally where required. There will be no additional cost for travel within 5 miles of postcode PE15 8NA, an additional charge of 45p a mile for travel above this.
If overnight accommodation is required depending on location, ceremony time and bridal party numbers, an amount of £50,00 will be added to your remaining balance.

Q: WE HAVE DECIDED TO MOVE OUR WEDDING DATE AND WOULD STILL LIKE YOUR SERVICES WHAT HAPPENS NOW?
A:If the client wishes to change their wedding date, as long as the date is available the deposit can be moved over with an admin fee of £30.00
Q. WHEN DOES A BRIDAL TRIAL USUALLY TAKE PLACE?
A:We advise the ideal time to have your bridal trial is usually somewhere between 4-8 weeks, but no more than 12 weeks, before your wedding. Having it done to early may result in you changing your mind or skin changes due to weather or hormones. This time frame is to ensure all the details of your wedding are finalised, making you confident in the makeup look you would like to go for, and also ensures the look we create is fresh in my mind. Trials may be earlier or later by request.
Q: HOW LONG SHOULD I ALLOW FOR MY TRIAL?
A:Every client’s requirements are different, and every makeup artist works at a different pace but on average I would say allow around three hours of daylight hours. It is important that the trial takes place during daylight hours as we are creating a daylight make-up which is extremely difficult to do if we are working in false light. Trials always take longer than the day due to the consultation, taking pictures and making changes.
Q: CAN MY BRIDESMAID AND MUM HAVE A TRIAL?

A:Trials are NOT included in their costs so it’s completely up to them whether or not they would like to pay the extra £25.00 to have one. We recommend trials for people with any specific skin concerns, or those who are anxious about having their makeup done. A lot of mother of brides benefit from having trial if they are not used to wearing makeup.
We don’t believe their trials are completely necessary so if there are certain people in your bridal party who are worried that they won’t be able to have one due to traveling or timing, please tell them not to worry.
If everyone decides to have one all we ask is that this is scheduled for the same day as the bride’s trial as it is more cost effective for the stylist.

Q: I’VE GOT VERY SENSITIVE SKIN CAN YOU STILL DO MY MAKEUP?
A:I have products in my kit to suit all skin types. However, if you have a specific problem which you know is aggravated by a specific product, please let me know when booking. The trial will also give us a chance to discuss this, and to ensure you are happy with all the products we are going to use.
Q: CAN YOU WORK WITH HAIR EXTENSION/DO YOU OFFER HAIR EXTENSIONS?
A:We work a lot with hair extensions whether they be clip in or sew in, please ensure if you are looking to get a set of hair extensions you invest in top quality hair, make sure it is the same colour as your own hair and the hair extensions can be styled with heated tools, as some cheaper versions will not curl!
Please reframe from getting pre curled hair pieces as this makes it extremely hard for us to style them. Also ensure when buying clip in, you get a number of different extension widths on clips, this will allow us to put the extensions exactly where we will need them. Please avoid one large hair piece.
We do not offer hair extensions in the salon, nor can we cut or colour hair or extensions.
Q: CAN YOU STAY FOR THE SERVICE AND EVENING?
A:We can certainly offer a full day service, so please mention this at the time of booking so we can quote for it. We are happy to stay just till the end of the service or into the afternoon/evening offering an evening look change if required. Price will depend on the number of extra hours required of us to stay.
Q: I HAVE A LARGE BRIDAL PARTY DO YOU HAVE ANYONE WHO HELPS YOU?
A:One assistant will be provided free of charge if necessary, however if another one is needed due to time restrictions and a large bridal party there will be an additional charge of £50.00
Q: WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY BOOKING?
A:At any point the client can cancel the event by getting intouch, please let me know asap so I can try and offer this date to another bride.

-In the event of the client cancelling a wedding booking before they or their bridal party has had a trial the deposit will not be refunded but the rest of the balance will not need to be paid.

– In the event of the client cancelling a wedding booking after them and their bridal party has had their trials and the rest of the balance has been paid. The only amount that will be refunded is traveling/accommodation or extra assistant costs.

Q: WHAT HAPPENS IN THE EVENT THAT YOU ARE NO LONGER ABLE TO DO OUR WEDDING?
A:Cancellations by the makeup artist due to circumstances including, but not limited to, problems rendering their performance and where no other suitable alternative can be given will result in a refund to the client of the trial and booking fee. No further compensation will be offered.

– If the booking is directly affected by circumstances beyond the control of the makeup artist, every possible endeavour to rectify such situations will be made, however no compensation will be offered on the makeup artist’s part. The client is strongly advised to take out wedding insurance to cover against such situations.
